Collaboration with the fire and police services

Sharing knowledge is the key

Pipeline maps delivery

Every five years, municipalities, local fire and police services are sent a full overview of all Fluxys Belgium pipelines present in their area. This five-yearly mailing was sent out in 2012. If new pipelines are commissioned or existing pipelines are moved during the five-year period, the municipalities, fire and police services concerned are automatically sent a copy of the updated maps.

Database for fire brigades

As a member of the Federation of Belgian Pipeline Companies (Fetrapi), Fluxys Belgium has its pipeline data incorporated into a continuously updated database. In collaboration with the Crisis Centre and Civil Security DGs within the Federal Public Service Home Affairs, the database has been made available online to fire brigades.

Database for emergency control centres

Pipeline data are also included in databases held by Communication and Information Centres (CICs), the emergency 101 control rooms to which all calls for police assistance are routed. When processing a call, these centres can consult the plans immediately to check whether the situation affects Fluxys Belgium or other Fetrapi members. The 100 and 101 centres in some provinces have been merged into a single centre.

Emergency and intervention plan

In the context of its guide to emergency measures in relation to pipelines used to transport gas and liquids, Fluxys is always willing to assist municipalities and provinces when drafting intervention plans.

Tips for using search operators

Use "quotation marks" to search for a series of words or a phrase in a specific order.

Boolean operators

You can find a group of words or a phrase by using the link words AND, OR and NOT:
known as Boolean operators, these words are used to combine terms in the search field.

  • AND: All the search terms must be included in the publication. Typing in Apple AND Pear will return publications containing both the word Apple and the word Pear.

  • OR :  At least one of the search terms must be included in the publication. Typing in Apple OR Pear will return publications containing either the word Apple or the word Pear or both.

  • NOT: The term preceded by NOT must not be included in the publication. Typing in Apple NOT Pear will return publications containing the word Apple but not the word Pear.
